Starting on Monday, September 6, 2010 (at 4:00 in the morning, so technically Sunday, September 5), I started taking a picture of something that made me happy every day. My Project Happiness 365 started as a proactive act on my part to ward off deep depression. It was spurred by heartbreak as an effort to pull myself out of the wreckage, but now it's fueled by gratitude and a desire to find the beauty in everyday, "mundane" life. This is my honest, vulnerable journey from Hot Mess to Winning. I hope this helps. Oh, and if you're in pain, good; that means you put your whole heart into something. And if you think it won't ever get better, I promise it will. Here's my proof.

14. That Face

Tonight was the BayWatch party and NO ONE PUKED! Hallemothafuckinlujah!! How do you even spell that?! Oh I lied. Someone puked but they made it into the toilet. Today was a GREEEEEEEAT day. I did almost NOTHING and it was AMAZING. Monster-In-Law was on TV. Perfect! I made a bowl of tomato soup with two grillled ham and cheese sandwhichi, I sat down, and BAM. A J.Lo movie- just what the doctor ordered. And it was aaaaaaaaaaamazing. I’m a sucker for love movies. I was really invested in J.Lo’s journey. I may have cried when she succeeded in the end. J.Lo, my faithful reader, I love you. I’m writing your next hit song so just hold out girl. But I really am a sucker for those love movies. Who says they’re unrealistic? Are the characters unusually suave? Hellz yes but I melt anyway.

And I made a new friiiiiiiiiend. Taylor and I are gonna hang out soooooooooo much. Haaaaa. What’s with the drunken typed laughter?? Who knows. But we get along swell. I don’t think she reads this but hopefully her nose is tickled because I’m thaaaanking of her. Ew, Jamesy. Ewsies. I took some GEMS of pictures tonight. They are soon to come. OH and some really nice friends added some REALLY sweet post-its to my wall. I read them, and thank you. You ladies really put a smile on my face. Dressing like a hoe does make me smile but you guys made me beam.

So excited for what this year has in store. But here’s the picture of the night. And yes, it feature Kaitlin.

Look at the accuracy with which she mimics the statue. Pure brilliance. And Scott’s in second place with his sour face. And Brenda, love you, but you missed the assignment. We love you anyway.

Oh. As I was watching Monster-In-Law I coerced Kaitlin and Katie into watching it with me. At the end J.Lo gets married and it’s so cute. And I said, “I am so getting married some day. And you guys better be there.” They said in unison, “We will.” Then Katie added, “I couldn’t miss that gay parade.” Made me smile. Because I am SOOOOOOOO getting married some day. And that’s why romance movies make me happy, because I see how happy they are and I know I will be, too. Not that I’m unhappy now. But what’s wrong with a little fantasy, eh? I mean, vicarious-living… theatre…. my career. It all goes hand-in-hand eh?

AND I AM OBSESSED WITH BJORK. Give the chica a chance. She is so unique.

“Do you know that there’s still a chance for you? Cuz there’s a spark in you. You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine. Just own the night like the Fourth of July. Cuz baby you’re a firework.”
~”Firework” by Katy Perry

I love you. Easy as pie, right?
