Here’s what I didn’t anticipate:
So in between each of my numbers for my benefit, I asked some of my friends to get up and share a little memory with me. And I didn’t really realize how much my friends loved me until then. Listening to our stories told through their perspective really made a difference to me. Ya know, you think, ‘Bah, I’m just a person who breathes and eats and poops.’ But your friends think so much more. So. It meant a lot to me. And moving will be extremely bittersweet. Perfect word to describe it.
I said to the world, “I would like to follow my dreams,” and then I worked my ass off. And now the world is conspiring to assist me. And for that I am grateful.
I’ve started praying again. Not for me though.
“So when I panic and feel each day I’ve come to the end of the line, I just say that fear hasn’t lick me yet. I keep telling myself, ‘I’m the bravest individual I have ever met.'”
~”I’m The Bravest Individual” from Sweet Charity (Cy Coleman, Dorothy Fields, Neil Simon)
“Have you ever looked fear in the face and said, ‘I just don’t care’?”
